Sunday Tunes

First I was thinking of writing about my favourite rock tracks at the moment, because I’ve been listening a lot of rock during this week on my way to work. Nothing wakes you up faster than a good groovy rock song. And I’m a huge fan of 80s rock in general. But on a relaxed Sunday morning it didn’t feel quite right, so I decided to share more gentle tunes with you.

This morning my playlist included for example the Swedish folk-duo First Aid Kit. The girls have amazing voices, and they surely wake you up gently. Also listened a couple of songs by English synthpop-duo Hurts, one of my long-term favourites. Many of their songs work on Sunday mornings, but I chose two calm and soothing tunes for you. The National made a comeback to my playlist with their album The Trouble Will Find Me, their singer still has a mesmerising voice. Of course, one song from Lana del Rey made it to the playlist, too. And I didn’t completely forget about the rock part, added acoustic rock cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man by Shinedown and a gentle acoustic song by a progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria, named Wake Up also to the playlist. Hope you have a lazy and relaxing Sunday!

First Aid Kit – My Silver Lining / Shattered & Hollow
Hurts – Somebody to Die For / Water
White Lies – First Time Caller
The National – This in the Last Time
Lana del Rey – Art Deco
Shinedown – Simple Man
Coheed and Cambria – Wake Up Acoustic
Florence + The Machine – Long & Lost / Caught

What kind of songs you have on your Sunday playlist? I’d be happy to take recommendations! 🙂
